this week has been an incredibly hard one. i don’t even know why, but my depression decided to take another stab at my heart and i constantly felt so helpless and beaten down on all sides. i tried my best to brush off the typical “how are you?” questions this week, just because i really didn’t want to get into it. tonight one of my close friends caught me during her break at work, and asked me that very question. i started to give her the generic answer, took a breath and responded with “actually, not very well at all.” i filled her in quickly and she responded with “i thought about you a lot this week” and had such a sad look in her eyes.
that broke my heart. the fact that God can place my needs on other people’s hearts, without me even prompting any of it. depression can get so messy so quickly, but to have the genuine concern and prayers of a friend can bring just enough light into the situation. no, nothing’s “solved”. and it’ll probably stay like that for awhile. but i feel the burden a little less. and i feel affirmed that God knows every single one of my thoughts, my worries, my pains and my burdens.
the mind can be an awful place sometimes. just posting this as encouragement for any of my followers who find themselves in similar situations. despite all the hurt, know that God always makes a way out. and that he never, ever looks at you as something not worth effort, love or concern. cling to Him and His Word, always. and remember this: we have to be broken for His healing.
